GFP mourns the loss of one of its founders:  Richard G. Weimer, AIA

Richard G. Weimer passed on August 3, 2023, with his family by his side.  Richard joined the Firm in 1963 and was the second generation of leadership of the firm now known as GFP Architecture & Interior design.  He practiced architecture in Thibodaux, LA for over 57 years following his graduation from LSU and serving our country as an officer of the U.S. Corps of Engineers.  Richard has many notable projects that highlight his lasting architectural legacy including St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, E.D. White Catholic High School, Thibodaux Civic Center, Thibodaux Fire Department Central Station, St. Joseph Manor, numerous projects at Nicholls State University, Fletcher Technical Community College Integrated Production Technology Building, and the Houma-Thibodaux Diocese Pastoral Center.  In addition to his deep commitment to his profession, Richard was known for his exceptional display of character as a loving husband, father, member of the Catholic Church, and volunteer in many community organizations.  Richard will be missed and his impact on the region will be forever remembered through his many contributions.
